Gingivitis (Early Gum Disease)

Puffy, bleeding gums are a warning sign of gingivitis : if your gums are in trouble, so are your teeth and potentially your heart. Gingivitis is the earliest form of gum disease.

what is Gingivitis?
Gingivitis is when teeth are held in place by the jawbone and gum tissue. If food and bacteria collect in spaces between the teeth and along the gum line without continual cleaning, over time they can infect the tissue and erode the bone.

Signs of gingivitis.
Careful attention to brushing and flossing, as well as regular dental cleanings, can help reverse it. These healing herbs can help.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 1 teaspoon aloe gel 1 teaspoon Echinacea Root Immune-Builder Tincture

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Mix the aloe gel with the echinacea tincture.
2. With a clean finger, swab it on your gums for relief. OTHER: Look for dental products that contain echinacea and/ or aloe.

Calendula Mouth Wash

Antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory calendula aids in calming puffy gums.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 1 cup water 2 teaspoons dried calendula flowers Alcohol-free mouthwash

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Boil the water and pour it over the calendula flowers. Steep them for 30 minutes.
2. Strain out the calendula flowers.
3. Add a tablespoon to a capful of your regular, alcohol-free mouthwash you rinse.
4. Store the liquid in a jar in the refrigerator and use daily.
