Curried Broccoli

Broccoli is famous for its cancer prevention properties; when paired with curry, the effect is awesome. Curry contains curcumin, a key chemical in turmeric that inhibits cancer cell growth and induces cancer cells to die.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
4 cups broccoli florets, 1 small onion, thinly sliced, 2 tablespoons curry powder, 2 tablespoons olive oil & Juice of 1 lemon Salt, to taste

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Wash and place the broccoli florets in a large bowl and toss in the onion slices.
3. Sprinkle the curry over the veggies and toss to cover them fully.
4. Drizzle the olive oil over the mix and toss the mix again.
5. Spread the mix across a baking sheet and roast for about 12 minutes, or until the vegetables are slightly browned.
6. Return the vegetables to a fresh bowl, warm, sprinkle with lemon juice, add salt, toss, and serve.
ALTERNATIVE: Heighten the curry taste by adding ½ teaspoon ginger. At the end, toss in crushed walnuts or sliced black olives for an omega-3 fatty acid boost.

Warming Reishi tea(Decoction)

Reishi has been proved to have cancer prevention benefits.
2–3 servings
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1 large handful reishi mushroom slices 1 cinnamon stick 2 cardamom pods 5 cups water 3 tablespoons cacao or carob powder Grass-fed whole milk, coconut, or almond milk Honey, to taste.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Place the reishi, cinnamon, and cardamom in a large pot and cover with the water.
2. Heat until boiling.
3. Turn down the heat and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half.
4. Strain and return to the pan. Reduce the heat to low.
5. Add the cacao powder and stir until well blended. Add the milk and honey.
6. Serve hot and enjoy. The remaining tea will last up to 3 days in the refrigerator and can be reheated.

SPARKLING POMEGRANATE DRINK

Deep red pomegranate is rich with cancer fighting flavonoids. Study shows the fruit extract’s potential to inhibit growth of breast, prostate, and lung cancer.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1 cup pomegranate juice (without added sugar) 1 cup sparkling water ½ lemon or lime Crushed ice

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. In a medium pitcher, mix the pomegranate juice and sparkling water.
2. Squeeze in the lemon juice.
3. Fill two chilled glasses with crushed ice and serve.
ALTERNATIVE: Stir in 1 tablespoon of honey to sweeten lightly, or top with a sprig of fresh mint to be festive.
