Flatulence
Flatulence is when gas is produced when intestinal bacteria ferments food in the large intestine. lt may not be the food you eat, but eating it too quickly. Taking in air along with a meal increases the opportunity for flatulence , as do carbonated drinks, alcohol, and, in some cases, milk. Remedies that suppress flatulence are called carminatives, and healing herbs like these below have topped the list for centuries

Cinnamon is carminative and helps relieve flatulence . Both it and honey are antibacterial and fight unwanted flatulence odor.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
¼ teaspoon fennel seeds
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. After a meal, pop the seeds in your mouth and chew them slowly until they form a soft paste.
2. Swallow or spit out the paste. You’ve extracted the flatulence suppressing juices.
ALTERNATIVE: Sprinkle up to 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds on breakfast cereal and other foods daily.
ALTERNATIVE: In a cup, mix ¼ teaspoon fennel seeds and 1 teaspoon dried lemon balm leaf (a carminative). Pour in boiling water, steep for 20–30 minutes, strain, and cool before drinking.
ORIGINS: American colonists favored carminative peppermint for calming gas and indigestion. Strong peppermint tea infusion or decoction is still used today, but it is not recommended for those with gastroesophageal reflux.
