CALENDULA OAT COAT
Oats are good for allergic skin reaction because they’re are anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and will help relieve itching.
2 applications
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 1 tablespoon colloidal oatmeal 1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon powdered dried calendula flower (grind dried flowers in a coffee grinder) or 2 tablespoons mashed fresh flower Water, as needed

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Blend the oatmeal and baking soda in a small bowl.
2. Stir in the calendula flower.
3. Add enough water to create a paste.
4. Smooth a coating over the affected area.
5. When dry, rinse off.
6. Reapply later as needed.
ALTERNATIVE: Instead of calendula, try fresh or crushed plantain or elder flower.
PLANTAIN POULTICE
Not only is plantain antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, but it also promotes healing. Use it for treating allergic skin reaction.
1 application
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
2–3 leaves of the plantain weed, plucked from your lawn Very warm water or oil
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Fully wash the leaves.
2. In a bowl or with a mortar and pestle, mash the leaves.
3. Add a few drops of water or oil to create a moist paste.
4. Spread the paste on a clean cloth and apply the cloth to the affected area. Leave on for 20 minutes.
5. Repeat as needed.
OTHER: Reach into your salad stash for a cucumber. This cooling agent is anti-inflammatory. Mash a few slices and apply the paste directly to the skin.
